The H.M.S.
ARIADNE, a mine laying ship, was the only British ship that participated
in the Leyte Landing of October 20, 1944, the start of the liberation of
the Philippines.
Thereafter,
an unnamed 5 masted British schooner classified as a top secret communications
ship also participated during the January 1945 Battle of Lingayen, in the
main island of Luzon. |
